Jim Cody

Former BOE President | Lifelong Lincroft Resident | Retired Small Business Owner

“In order for the Middletown School District to thrive, we must operate as efficiently as possible. As a successful small business owner, I understand firsthand how strong operations directly impact results. We must carefully examine our facilities and operations to ensure that every tax dollar is maximized. Tax increases like the 10% hike supported by this year's incumbents are unnecessary and unsustainable. Whether it is facilities, transportation or staffing, we need a clear plan in place, not reliance on the state to bail us out or let us fail. I have a proven record of helping lead a board that delivered optimal results with minimal impact on taxpayers. If elected, that is the direction we will return to once again.”

Jim Cody is a lifelong Lincroft resident, deeply invested in the Middletown community. He and both of his daughters graduated the Middletown Township School system and he is now grandfather to one district student with more soon to follow.

Jim successfully served on the Middletown Board of Education from 2013–2018, including as Board President in 2015 and 2016. He is a recently retired business owner with 45 years of operational and leadership experience.

Jim is committed to ensuring quality education, fiscal responsibility, and community involvement via strong academic programs, school safety, and smart budgeting for future generations to come.
